Had an almost artificial bag-like layer to it and I genuinely couldn't tell if that was the flower or the packaging, so I moved it into a jar to test. Burped it once, went back — still smelled off the whole time, like gym sock rank in a bad way. Not sure if a rough grow can actually produce that smell or if it was something else going on, but it never shook that off.

Taste 2.8/10

Horrid. You'd expect some kind of sweet-sour orange zest off the Tangie lineage and it just wasn't there — lacked any and all flavor. This brand markets itself as "shareable flower," and honestly that tracks: this is the bag you break out when the cousin you can't stand comes over and you don't want him touching your good stuff.

High 5.8/10

The only slight highlight of the whole bag. A head high that leans into full body, an end-of-day relaxer that lasted about 1h25m. Only real knock is I picked up a slight headache a couple times when running it as joints — best kept to bowls instead.

Wouldn't buy it again, wouldn't recommend it. And $75 for 14g makes it sting worse — Old Pal's whole "shareable flower" positioning increasingly reads like a built-in excuse to ship mediocre product: pre-frame it as the bag you hand off to people you don't care about impressing, and nobody's disappointed on the brand's behalf. NJ doesn't need more shelves stacked with mids like this when a little more time and care in the grow could produce genuinely better flower at the same price point. NJ's shelf-life spread on top of that (some strains gone in months, others sitting a full year) makes it way too easy for bags like this to end up in rotation long after they should've moved.

Look & Structure

Medium-to-small nugs, trim was okay but the overall bag just looked ugly. Not my first run with Old Pal either — I've been through their Blue Gelato in past friend seshes, and that's actually where I picked up 3 seeds, not this one. Still a brand-wide quality-control flag worth mentioning even if it's not this exact bag's fault.

COA & Batch Testing

Total THC 20.71% (THCA 22.89%, D9-THC 0.6387%), CBG 0.1191%, CBGA 0.3715%. Total terpenes come out under 1% combined (B-Myrcene 0.25%, T-Caryophyllene 0.272%, Linalool 0.144%, A-Humulene 0.0935%, A-Pinene 0.0172%, Terpinolene 0.00%) — genuinely one of the lowest terpene loads in the index, which lines up with how flat this tasted. Grown indoor/hydroponic. Production and package dates put this well within a reasonable window, so whatever went wrong here wasn't age.
